Located on the southern fringes of the Blackdown Hills in the picturesque Otter Valley, Claypits Farm Bed and Breakfast is some 4 miles from Honiton and midway between Exeter and Taunton.
The stone and slate farmhouse was built in 1902 on the site of an older house. Originally surrounded by its own land and old stone barns, it now sits in about 2 acres amidst the Otter Valley Golf Centre.
The house is creatively decorated with a blend of traditional and modern furnishings. There is a partly walled south facing garden and far reaching views over the Otter Valley.
We have a double and a family room with en-suite shower/WC and a twin room with adjacent bathroom/WC. Each room is equipped with colour TV and tea/coffee making facilities and there is ample car parking. Children and well behaved domestic pets are welcome but we are non-smoking.
You can enjoy a hearty English or simpler continental style breakfast in our farmhouse kitchen, or weather permitting, taken in the gardens.
We pride ourselves on sourcing ingredients from traditional local farms and suppliers, but a few free range hens provide fresh eggs. For lunch time or evening meals, local Inns and restaurants provide a range of gastronomic delights or just good wholesome English fayre.
You could come and be inspired by the natural beauty of the Blackdown Hills or wonder at the majestic ruggedness of the Jurassic coastline. Perhaps you could spend the day at a Blue Flag beach or browse through the intriguing and unusual contents of the numerous Honiton Antique and Collectors shops. Maybe you simply need somewhere to break your journey on route further into Devon or Cornwall.
